My Testimony To The US Congress On Restoring Seas And Trees

Here’s my testimony to the US Congress on restoring seas and trees.

Trees alone can not save us, but there is salvation in replenishing and restoring the seas, the ocean pastures.

In every five year span of time since the 1950’s ocean plant life equal to an entire Amazon rainforest has been lost. Forests cover just 10% percent of this world, oceans and their pastures cover 72%. Don’t let the forests block your gaze of the seas. They both need our care and attention.

By the way, I know something about caring for the forest and her trees, I’ve been doing that for a very long time, all of my life. Here’s a photo of me in the early 1970’s amidst the burned and blackened once-majestic old-growth temperate rainforest doing my best to heal her wounds by planting trees, one tree at a time hundreds every day month in month out…

Time have changed and following my 2012 large scale ocean plant life, think ocean trees if that helps, it is now clear that the cost of restoring sufficient plant life on this blue planet to manage billions of tonnes of our menacing CO2 emissions – past and present – will be mere millions of dollars each year  In the bargain Mother Nature will thank us for restoring her ocean pastures by sending us an annual dividend in the form of billions of fish to help us end world hunger.
